REFRIGERATED SEEDS | 冷藏的种子
I have been sanguine about the future of the nature and human society, but apprehensive of global warming, biological dissimilation, devoid humanity, tradition lapse, culture decadence and anomie ---- Will people in the future be able to see the innocent and pure world again? Will they question us who live at present: what does the original world of all creatures look like?

With a few times of stay in Qinling, I have been fascinated about varieties of creatures here. In the mountain grow the plants which have never undergone “agricultural revolution”, sticking to their nature, sheer multiply generations with “natural status”, such as wild kakis, wild chestnuts, wild turnips, wild kiwifruit. So, I collected the seeds of the wild plants, froze them in the refrigerator and took photos of them as they were crystalized. I hope, by taking the photography as the media, to remind people of reserving the nature of the world.

Cell freezing is a regular way of preserving cell lines of microorganism or animal and plants. In the nature world, the process of solidification of liquid into crystals is called crystallization. It is said that, water carries different power due to different water source locations. During water crystallization, different sounds can be heard and different shapes can be seen, hence the final crystals take on various shapes, which seems to reveal a kind of message and power—I believe that everything in the world has a soul!

In my point of view, crystals presented in the works seem to take on not only a tissue of serene state, but also a texture of sufferers, at the same time, they look like the symbols laden with profound theories and mysteries, and seem to be a superposition of the process of time lapse and the material form transformation as well----Perhaps that is just the spirits of true value and universal salvation that I hope to carry. When we expect a safe and sound nature, blood related human and heart to heart communication, human may be conquered in the bane that they grow themselves. Is it possible to fix it?
